An empowering female-fronted Mexican duo, Las Guadalupes' Ingrid Rueda and DeAnna Avis have been playing Mexican music together for years, with mariachi performances all over the world.
Throughout the course of their union, they’ve won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life; performing and spreading their mission of female empowerment and love for traditional Mexican music.

Ingrid Rueda is a Colombian singer-songwriter and guitarist, passionate about freedom of expression. Over the course of her musical career, Ingrid has been part of numerous bands in England and has extensive experience as a live performer worldwide.
At the age of 10, Ingrid wrote her first song with strong, social and political content about Colombia and soon went on to graduate with a BA degree in Political Science.
Ingrid’s arrival in the UK shaped her musical influences spanning Andean, Mexican, Cuban, French, Gypsy, Arabic, Flamenco, English and Rock vibes – all of which are present in her singing style and guitar playing today.
Ingrid has won international awards, including two for best lyrics and two nominations for vocalist of the year UK. Ingrid has played with mariachi groups in the UK for the last 15 years. Now, by co-founding Las Guadalupes, Ingrid is bringing her love of traditional Mexican music and female empowerment to life.

DeAnna Avis was born and raised in California, in a Mariachi family. She started studying classical violin at the age of three and began performing in a mariachi group at eight years of age.
At the age of 19, a young DeAnna moved to Essex, England where she broadened her musical horizons fronting a punk riot grrrl band, amongst many others. DeAnna has performed with mariachi groups in London and the USA and now as the co-founder of Las Guadalupes, she aims to bring the riot grrrrl mariachi chingona spirit to even more people.
Her songs and recordings have been published through Bitterscene Records, Wrong Way Records and Roadkill Records. She has hundreds of live performances under her belt, including The Dome at Tufnell Park, 100 Bar Club in London, The Fling Festival, Panic Awards and International Mariachi Festivals in New Mexico and Arizona, USA.
